About Dan
Early in the year and already confused? Totally normal. Nursing and paramedic courses can feel like a lot at the start—I help make it actually make sense.
I’m an ICU/ED nurse with 15+ years experience and a registered paramedic, so I can break things down in a way that connects lectures to real patients. I’ve got postgrad training in education, which basically means I know how to explain things without making your brain melt.
I teach on the floor and at uni—keeping things relaxed, practical, and judgment-free. No question is too basic.

Every student learns differently—so no two lessons with me are the same.
Before we start, I take the time to understand where you’re at, what you’re finding challenging, and how you learn best. From there, I tailor each session to suit you. If you like structure, we’ll break topics down step-by-step. If you learn better through discussion, we’ll talk things through and apply them to real clinical scenarios. If you need repetition and practice, we’ll reinforce concepts until they stick.
I focus on making things simple, practical, and easy to understand—linking theory to real-life patient care so it actually makes sense. Sessions can be as structured or as relaxed as you need, whether we’re working through an assignment, preparing for an exam or OSCE, or just trying to get your head around a tricky topic.
You’re encouraged to ask questions at any time (no matter how basic), and I’ll always adjust the pace to suit you. My goal is to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where you can build confidence and genuinely understand what you’re learning—not just memorize it.

Details
Available in-person and online, our lessons can go as long or as short as you need.
I much prefer teaching face-to-face, as this works well for practical skills, and I like to use the physical environment to get concepts across. Life's an adventure and I'm happy to travel around the state! I'm often between Melbourne, Bendigo, Geelong, Horsham and Yarrawonga.
First lesson is free as I aim for an ongoing, productive teaching relationship throughout your studies.
