About Grant
Hey there! Are you having difficulty with learning microeconomics and preparing for exams? I have a pretty cool niche specialty that can help provide a more tangible learning experience in that I specialize in coffee economics; which means I work in topics ranging from microeconomics, agricultural economics, environmental economics and econometrics. I worked across the spectrum of the coffee value chain, from a barista to a coffee roaster, and all the way to researcher conducting experiments with coffee farms in Mexico. So if you love coffee, or love a more narrative structure to lesson plans, I can teach more about the world of coffee through the lens of economics. I have a master's degree in International & Development Economics at University of San Francisco, and triple-majored in my undergrad at Seattle Pacific University. While completing my master's degree, I was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Assistant award by the economics department in 2023. If you're looking for technical help when it comes to applied economics, I can help with STATA commands and how to make your tables and figures so much easier to produce and not waste hours on formatting issues with your research.

I love working with students that are first learning these principle concepts of economics and can empathize with struggling to grasp some of these complicated concepts. I remember being intimidated when I first took my introductory economic classes and love discovering ways to repackage these concepts to be more accessible. My goal in these tutoring sessions is to meet my students where they are at, and take a topic that just doesn't make sense, and move from tangible step to tangible step. I love being creative and using concepts that are relatable to make abstract concepts to be more concrete and memorable.*
*Warning, you might end up becoming a coffee snob as a byproduct of these lessons as well.
