About the lesson

My chess lessons are designed to build strong thinking habits and clear strategic understanding. I begin by teaching the importance of piece activity, centre control, and king safety. Students learn how to read the board carefully before making any move. I explain ideas step by step in simple English so learners clearly understand the reasoning behind each decision. Early lessons focus on avoiding common mistakes and developing awareness of threats.

As students improve, we explore tactical themes such as forks, pins, skewers, and discovered attacks. I encourage regular puzzle practice to strengthen pattern recognition and calculation skills. We also study positional concepts like pawn structure, space advantage, and long-term planning. After each practice game, we review critical moments together. This reflection process helps students recognise both strong moves and missed opportunities.

My goal is to help learners stay calm and focused during games. Chess is not only about winning but about thinking clearly under pressure. With steady practice and structured guidance, students develop patience and discipline. I create a respectful and motivating environment where growth feels achievable and consistent.
