About Selena

I am a 3rd-year B.Ed Intermediate Phase student at Stellenbosch University with strong academic results (65%+). I am deeply passionate about teaching and committed to helping learners truly understand their work, not just memorize it. I offer patient, nurturing tutoring while still motivating and challenging learners to reach their full potential. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each child’s learning style, helping them build confidence and develop a genuine love for learning. I tutor Social Sciences, English Home Language, Afrikaans FAL, and Life Skills, and I offer affordable rates because quality education should be accessible. By choosing me as your child’s tutor, you are investing in personalized support, proven academic dedication, and a teacher who is genuinely committed to your child’s success.

About the lesson

I focus on understanding over memorisation. Each learner is unique, so I tailor my approach to suit their individual learning style, ensuring concepts are clear and engaging. I combine patience, nurturing guidance, and high expectations to motivate learners while building their confidence. I use interactive methods, real-life examples, and creative activities to make subjects relatable and enjoyable. My goal is for every child to grasp concepts fully, develop critical thinking, and gain a love for learning, all while progressing at a pace that suits them.
