About Louise
Nice to meet you! I'm Louise. I live in Wakefield with my partner, daughter and rescue dogs. I'm a data engineer in my day job, but I love sharing knowledge and helping others so teaching interesting and eager people like yourself is going to be really rewarding and fun! I've worked in banking and finance my entire working life and five of those years have been in a role which is based around Python and SQL. Over my time as a Data Engineer, I have completed many courses and qualifications and have experience coaching and mentoring. I'm always looking at ways I can improve my knowledge - as are you it seems! It's so exciting to learn more, especially when the software you're learning can make life so much simpler!

I was a complete beginner with Excel in January 2021. A change of career meant I needed to quickly learn to use the program in a professional capacity and to an advanced standard. Louise is a very insightful, patient, personable and knowledgeable teacher. Seemingly against the odds I was able to go from simple "sum" formulas to "vlookups" and "if" statements in a matter of weeks. As my confidence grew, my progression accelerated to include complex logical statements and nested "if" formulas. Within 8 months I went from a data technician to a position in management running a data team.
Her knowledge also extends to soft Excel skills such as presentation, formatting and visualisations, which enabled me to build my MI dashboards for the company with ease.
