About Louella
Chess becomes a different game when you look past the pieces to the underlying tactical patterns. You might wonder if your current defensive technique is hindering your growth, but I suspect it is simply a matter of sharpening your pattern recognition.
Over my 13 years of coaching, I have worked with 301 students to refine their opening principles and time management. My MSc in Pure Mathematics from Stanford University informs how I teach the structural demands of the board. I diagnose your weaknesses in blunder checking to help you play with greater intent. I really enjoy helping players find the beauty in a perfectly executed sequence.
