I don't think you can TEACH someone to make people smile, it comes naturally,, but you can surely always polish them and show them the correct ways to tell the jokes on stage, because there is always a style, a pattern that comedians need to follow,, there are transitions, crowdwork, improvisations etc,,I specialize in observational comedy.
