About Zsófia
I have been tutoring on MyTutor for over 2 years now, with over 700 completed lessons and a 5/5 average rating. I received a First-Class Honours Degree in Psychology from University College London this year, and I am about to complete a Master's in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Loughborough University with a Distinction. My undergraduate studies have endowed me with experience in lab report writing and data analysis, as well as in writing Psychology essays and research proposals. I'm particularly savvy with statistics in psychology. I started tutoring Psychology this year, and in this time, I have helped a student go from a failing grade to over 60% in her Research Methods module. I believe that to achieve something like this, tutees and tutors have to work together, and that is what I would like to facilitate during my lessons: an atmosphere of mutual trust and hard work.

I believe that the most important part of learning Psychology is to learn scientific thinking: conducting experiments, analysing data, critically evaluating evidence and research papers, and formulating arguments based on your impressions, and these are the core values I focus on with my tutees. In an average lesson, we would be looking at one or two research papers in depth if preparing for a GCSE/A-level exam, analysing its theoretical underpinnings and methodology. As Psychology exams are generally essay-based, I believe this philosophy can be helpful irrespective of the specific field of Psychology, although I specialise towards Sport and Exercise Psychology, Health Psychology and topics related to Behaviour Change. I can also offer help in statistics and data analysis, both with theory and in software including Minitab, SPSS and RStudio. In such a lesson, we would usually be going over a worksheet that focuses on a particular statistical analysis technique (such as ANOVAs or multiple linear regression), and go over how the software we're using conducts hypothesis testing and how to interpret the results we're given. I am also happy to give guidance on lab report writing and exam prep, within the limits of professionality.
