About Pearl
With over 20 years of experience in Bharatanatyam and more than 5 years in Yakshagana, I bring a wealth of knowledge and skill to my teaching. I have performed in numerous stage performances and have been honored with various awards. Additionally, I hold both Senior and Junior grades in Bharatanatyam, each achieved with distinction. My extensive background allows me to offer expert instruction and a deep appreciation for these classical dance forms.

Comprehensive Classical Dance Lesson Plan
1. Warm-Up :
Physical Exercises: Focus on strength and flexibility.
Basic Movements: Warm up with fundamental steps and postures specific to Bharatanatyam and Yakshagana.
2. Technique Practice:
Bharatanatyam :
Adavus: Practice fundamental steps and rhythms.
Postures: Work on correct hand gestures (mudras) and footwork.
Yakshagana :
Basic Steps (Kattas): Practice traditional footwork and stances.
Hand Gestures (Mudras): Learn and practice specific hand gestures.
3. Drama and Expression:
Bharatanatyam :
Facial Expressions: Practice conveying emotions through expressions.
Storytelling: Use gestures and expressions to narrate a short story.
Yakshagana:
Facial Expressions: Practice conveying emotions and storytelling through expressions.
Role Play: Work on character portrayal and dramatic elements.
4. Choreography :
Bharatanatyam :
Learn a New Piece: Break down and practice a segment of a dance.
Combine Elements: Integrate adavus, expressions, and movements.
Yakshagana:
Learn a New Segment: Break down and practice a section of a dance-drama.
