About Barnabas
Hello, future medical students! The MCAT is less about rote memorization and more about mastering standardized logic, data analysis, and critical arguments. As an MA in Economics graduate, I used advanced data modeling, logical frameworks, and structural analysis to conquer this exam—scoring in the 95th percentile on CARS and the 99th percentile on the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior section.
Because I come from a non-traditional quantitative background, I don't look at these sections the way standard science majors do. I treat them as puzzle systems with predictable patterns. During my graduate studies, I served as a University Teaching Assistant (TA), where I mastered the art of breaking down incredibly complex theories into simple, intuitive concepts.
Additionally, I spent 3 years working as a campus missionary on Canadian universities. This unique experience means I understand the immense stress, pressure, and mental fatigue that premed students face. Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS): Moving away from simple "reading comprehension". I will teach you to unpack complex humanities/social science passages, read to understand, identify author bias/tone, track the central thesis, and predict AAMC answer logic.
Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior (Psych/Soc): We will learn to dissect dense experimental passages, interpret sociology and psychology graphs, and cleanly differentiate between frustratingly similar terms (e.g., classical vs. operant conditioning, or structural functionalism vs. conflict theory).
