About Telma
I am a Learning Support Practitioner at a Sussex further education college, where I work every day with students who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), supporting their learning, independence, and preparation for life beyond education. I am simultaneously completing an MSc in Educational Psychology at Wrexham University, building on my BSc in Psychology with Clinical Approaches from the University of Sussex.
SEND support is not an add-on to what I do; it is at the heart of my professional practice. I have hands-on experience working with students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and a range of other learning differences, and I am trained in inclusive, person-centred approaches that put the student's voice and wellbeing first.
I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate, registered on the Update Service, and I take my safeguarding responsibilities seriously. I am patient, adaptable, and genuinely committed to helping every student I work with feel capable and supported.

My sessions are built around you — your needs, your pace, and your goals. As someone who works daily with students with EHCPs in a further education setting, I understand that traditional tutoring approaches don't always work for neurodiverse learners, and I take pride in adapting everything I do to suit the individual in front of me.
I draw on evidence-based strategies rooted in educational psychology, including structured task-breaking, metacognitive coaching, visual scaffolding, and self-regulation techniques, to help students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning differences build confidence and develop skills that last beyond the session.
Sessions are typically 50–60 minutes, delivered online via Zoom/ Google Meet or in person in Brighton and the surrounding Sussex area. Support can include study skills, academic writing, organisation and planning, exam preparation, or simply having a consistent, trusted space to work through challenges at your own pace.
I work with FE and HE students as well as younger learners, and I am happy to liaise with parents, guardians, or other professionals where appropriate and with consent.
