About Dr Fawaz
I am Dr. Fawaz, an experienced educator, researcher, and former university lecturer holding a PhD in Computer Science with over 25 years of teaching experience across schools, higher education, and industry. Throughout my career, I have published over 45 peer-reviewed scientific papers and worked closely with diverse groups of learners. My extensive background in STEM and analytical thinking gives me a structured, patient, and problem-solving mindset when helping students navigate learning differences and academic challenges.
My specialised focus includes providing dedicated SEND and SEN support for students with ADHD, Autism, and targeted Maths Difficulties. Having guided learners of varying abilities across multiple educational stages, I recognise that every student learns differently and requires a tailored, empathetic approach. My deep understanding of logical structures and data allows me to isolate where a student gets stuck—particularly in quantitative areas like mathematics—and rebuild their understanding from the ground up using supportive, intuitive techniques.
At the heart of my tutoring practice is a patient, highly adaptable, and encouraging approach designed to foster confidence and self-belief. I focus on building a strong mentor-student relationship, offering reliable support that celebrates every milestone along the learning journey. By specialising in support for students with ADHD, Autism, and specific Maths Difficulties, I focus on breaking down academic barriers through customised teaching strategies. I take the time to understand each learner’s sensory preferences, attention spans, and unique strengths, ensuring that every session is engaging, accessible, and stress-free.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I adapt my teaching methods to match how your child processes information best. For students with ADHD or ADD, I incorporate dynamic focus techniques, clear visual breakdowns, and manageable lesson chunks to keep energy high and frustration low. For autistic students, I provide structured predictability, clear communication, and a calm, encouraging space that fosters confidence and independence. When addressing maths difficulties, I break complex numerical concepts into intuitive visual and hands-on steps, transforming anxiety into genuine understanding.
Beyond academic improvement, my lessons aim to build self-esteem, resilience, and executive functioning skills that empower students well beyond the classroom. I maintain close, clear communication with parents to track progress and align tutoring strategies with any existing EHCPs or school adjustments.
