About Mia
I have over 20 years of experience as an educator. I worked as a Special Education teacher for 6 years, mostly in a resource setting. I have worked as a teacher assistant in SPED for 15 years to current. It has been a joy to work with special needs students. I love to watch students grow in confidence, build a relationship based on trust, and watch the child grow a love for learning. ️

I have experience in 1st through 3rd elementary education, catering to special needs students. I utilize scaffolding techniques to assist students in accessing concepts in math, reading, and writing. I have over twenty years of experience as an educator and a mother of 5 boys. I love to form relationships with my students and provide an environment that’s safe and fun for learning. A typical lesson can vary based upon the needs and goals of a student. I would assess the student's present levels of performance in the given subject area. Then tutoring would include skills practice to strengthen prerequisite skills to attain the goals/skills needed for the student. I can assist with homework as well.
