About Kristi
I am a certified special education teacher with 32 years of classroom experience. I have worked with students in a variety of settings. The majority of my experience has been helping students with mild to moderate disabilities (learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, autism) who attend regular classes. I am familiar with the content of many subject areas and am ready to reteach the information in a structured manner best suited to the student. I can address gaps in reading and math skills and help students improve their time management and organizational skills.

My lessons are tailored specifically to the needs of the student. I typically work with students who are in middle school or high school. My goal during a tutoring session is to quickly establish rapport, assess student strengths and weaknesses and provide the appropriate instruction. I look for missing prerequisite skills and ensure mastery before moving to the next task.
