My lessons are built to get you speaking confidently, clearly, and naturally. We focus on real-life Dutch you can use right away: everyday conversation, workplace vocabulary, or the phrases you need to talk to a Dutch-speaking friend and/or family member.
Every session is tailored. I adjust to your pace, your goals, and how you learn best. If you like structure, I bring a clear plan. If you learn through conversation, we talk. Grammar and vocabulary, but purposeful. I don't teach rules for the sake of rules. If a walking lesson works better than sitting at a desk, we walk.
Specialised tracks available. For families caring for elderly Dutch-speaking parents, I've developed a specific 20-lesson programme covering everyday care conversations, emotional support phrases, and reminiscence prompts that unlock memories.
Sessions are typically 45 minutes, but I offer flexible lengths depending on your schedule and energy. Let's find what fits.

Koen is a fantastic, patient teacher, and has a friendly, fun way of teaching and works to find a time that is best for you.
I am learning Dutch because my father, who is from the Netherlands has Alzheimer's and is losing his English, and Koen has been so compassionate and is focusing my lessons around specific things that can help me understand what dad wants or needs.
I highly recommend him as a teacher, and look forward to continuing my lessons.Koen is very knowledgeable and makes classes fun. He has a relaxing teaching style which helps you feel at ease. Can't recommend him enough and his yoga classes enough!
