About Andre
I am a dedicated and multi-faceted professional with a vast array of interests and skills open to work, learning and connecting with employers and like-minded individuals.
I am currently practising as a medical doctor in South Africa, due to complete my internship at Worcester Provincial Hospital within the next few months. I enjoy the clinical environment, the interaction with my patients and the integration with my team tremendously. My interests within the field of medicine include paediatrics, internal medicine and family medicine.
Outside of work I regard myself as a balanced individual, an avid traveller, a lover of languages and an explorer at heart. I dabble in creative expression, mostly in the realm of poetry and prose. Although these pursuits are by definition not my full-time work I do make a conscious effort to expand in these domains.
My goals as a medical practitioner include maintaining a high standard of patient care, continuing my professional development, collaborating with both local and foreign colleagues while maintaining a balanced lifestyle and good relations with my peers, friends and family. In the future I hope to become involved with an academic program of sorts whereunder I may teach/tutor future generations of healthcare specialists as I have a passion for sharing knowledge and overcoming the complexities of understanding medical concepts.

Studying medicine requires a solid understanding of the basic sciences as well as a deep understanding of complex topics that are generally not easy to grasp. I believe that ideas are better remembered when broken down to their simplest forms, made relatable and then reconstructed to create a true understanding of a topic. Revision is exceptionally important as well as the thing that very few textbooks cover - clinical application of what you are studying.
