About Sennen

I’m a Songwriter-performer, teacher and mentor based in Lewes with over 10 years writing and performing experience. My particular skills include guitar, piano, singing, and songwriting. I have a master's distinction in Songwriting from ICMP London. I am currently completing a music production master diploma at Point Blank London.

At the moment my professional projects include: my singer-songwriter career, teaching songwriting on a 1-2-1 and workshop basis and managing my events business. I also volunteer as a business mentor for the Prince’s Trust helping young people developing their businesses.

I’ve played at the UK’s top Southwest venues/festivals including: - Opening for Martin Carthy, Lyme Folk Festival - Chai Whallahs stage, Shambala Festival - Einsteins Garden Stage, Greenman Festival - Bristol Harbourside Festival.

I am currently recording my debut album, due out in 2023, with Producer Chris Hyson whose recent album projects include Jordan Rakei, The Magic Lantern, Alison Sudol. My first self-released single 'Distance & Time' was aired recently on BBC Introducing and described as ‘Gorgeously Atmospheric’ - BBC Introducing

As a songwriter, I’m passionate about lyric writing and how lyric and music work together to enhance the meaning and feeling within a song.

I usually compose on my main instruments (guitar and piano) however, I am also proficient in the use of Logic Pro X and its use as both a writing and recording tool. My background is in Folk music and I also have experience writing in other styles such as Alt-pop, Acoustic Pop, Country, Americana, and electronic genres such as Dance, House, Electro, and Techno.

About the lesson

- Are you working on a song, EP or album and would like support finishing songs?
- Would you like to learn new songwriting techniques and expand your creative practice?

I can teach all areas of songwriting, including creative process, music theory and melody writing, lyric writing, chord progressions, harmony and arrangement and musicology. I also teach technical and theoretical knowledge on guitar, piano, singing and working with Logic Pro X.

Working as a professional songwriter - performer for over 10 years and having studied MA Songwriting, I have a range of experience combined with a technical understanding to help you bring out the best in your songs.

Lessons are focused on your goals and interests and we can work on your existing songs or try something new. By setting weekly briefs, I will encourage you to apply new songwriting techniques and develop your songs.

I will help you acquire the tools to craft songs from start to finish - expanding your creative practice and honing your unique voice as a songwriter. Performing new material can be daunting.

Rest assured I provide a supportive space for listening and giving positive, constructive feedback to your music. Recent clients projects include: developing songs for a debut EP and live set, developing an album concept and song selection, workshopping songs as a small group working towards performing at an open mic.

We had a garden party for a 40th birthday party with a mix of parents and friends our age and everyone absolutely loved it. Had pretty much everyone up having a dance by the end of the evening.
