Cette qualité est subtile et très précieuse dans l’apprentissage d’un instrument. La première série de cours que j’ai prise avec elle m’a permis de beaucoup mieux comprendre l’harmonie et son utilisation dans la construction efficace d’un morceau. De plus, Val est très attentive à pousser ses élèves dans le développement d’une forme d’instinct, au-delà d’un enseignement académique ; un type enseignement qu’elle maîtrise d’ailleurs parfaitement.
Enfin, son jeu de guitare est impressionnant, elle est une des rares personnes que je connaisse qui soit capable de faire rugir réellement une six cordes !

As a former student of Valerie who spent 7 years learning the drums under her guidance, I can confidently say that she is an excellent music teacher.
Her comprehensive approach to teaching combines not only the practice of the instrument but also music theory (I learnt how to count and read music notation).
The drums lessons included pad exercises to strengthen and balance both hands (different grips, fingers control and Moeller technique), the understanding of songs structures through active listening and of course, the practice behind the drum kit to develop specific techniques (coordination, synchronisation, control) as well as playing along songs.
