About Sofia

I’ve always had a strong interest in how the world works on a macro level and that passion for macroeconomics started back when I studied it during the IB. Since then, I’ve loved digging deeper into topics like inflation, monetary policy, and long-run growth models, and I enjoy helping others make sense of them too. My goal as your tutor is to make economics not just clearer, but actually enjoyable. I really believe in starting with you, we’ll figure out together what you’re confident with and what you’re struggling with, then build a plan that focuses on your priorities. I like working through challenges step-by-step, doing active recall, short recaps, and setting mini-targets that feel doable. It's a motivating and rewarding way to learn – and it works. I'm here to support you, guide you, and hopefully make you feel just a little more in control of the subject by the end of our time together!

About the lesson

One thing I’ve learnt from my own experience is how powerful it is to tailor learning to each student’s strengths and weaknesses. I like to start by asking students where they feel confident and where they struggle, and together we build a to-do list from what needs the most work to what needs the least. It’s how I personally learn best—step by step, with a clear plan—and I’ve found it really motivating and rewarding. Along the way, we’ll do regular recaps and use active recall to make sure everything sticks. My goal is to help students feel capable, supported, and in control of their own progress.
