About Ahmed
I’m Ahmed, a final-year Economics student at SOAS, University of London, on track for a First Class degree. I grew up in London and have spent the last few years working alongside professionals at TradingHub, Nomura, and LSEG, which gave me a strong sense of how economics plays out beyond the textbook.
I started tutoring because A-Level Economics is one of those subjects where the gap between understanding and exam performance can be huge. You can grasp the concepts in class and still drop marks because you’re not applying them the way examiners expect. I’ve been through that process recently enough to know exactly where students get caught out, and that’s what I focus on closing.
Outside of studying and tutoring, I play cricket and lead a finance society at university. I mention that because I think it matters who you’re learning from, not just what they

My sessions run for an hour, though I’m flexible depending on what needs covering. I teach Economics at A-Level, so typically students aged 16 to 18, though I’m happy to work with anyone resitting or preparing for university entry.
Every session starts with a quick check-in on what was covered since we last spoke and where confusion crept in. From there we either work through concepts that aren’t clicking yet, tackle past paper questions under timed conditions, or both. I don’t lecture for an hour. Most of the session is you working through problems while I guide you, because that’s how understanding actually builds.
I’m a final-year Economics student at SOAS, University of London, on track for a First Class degree. I’ve completed placements and insight programmes at TradingHub, Nomura, and LSEG, which means when we cover topics like financial markets, exchange rates, or macroeconomic policy, I can connect the theory to what actually happens in practice. That context makes a real difference for A-Level students who find the abstract models hard to visualise.
I’m available online and in person across London. Sessions are one-to-one only.
