About Stephanie
I am a passionate violin tutor with 5 years of teaching and professional music experience, dedicated to helping students develop technical mastery, musical creativity, and confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to performers capable of playing with technical skill, emotion, and expressive musicality. My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance.
I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a complete understanding of music. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology focused on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, aimed at developing well-rounded musicians who are technically proficient, emotionally expressive, and confident. Lessons are fully tailored to each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, balancing technical exercises with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance practice.
Motivation is the driving force behind my teaching. I guide students to set realistic short-term and long-term goals, monitor their progress closely, and celebrate achievements. This fosters perseverance, self-confidence, and a deep appreciation for the learning process, encouraging students to embrace challenges and strive for excellence.
Communication ensures lessons are interactive and collaborative. Students can ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely, creating a trusting and productive environment for learning.
Creativity is emphasised throughout each session. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to develop a personal artistic voice and strengthen their emotional connection to music. Integrity reinforces disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, ensuring long-term consistency and excellence.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, providing a holistic musical education that supports both academic and performance development.
