About Ella
I am a professional piano tutor with 8 years of teaching experience and a record of successfully guiding around 300 students, including high school learners, college students, and adults. My lessons focus on developing technical skills, musical understanding, and performance confidence while fostering creativity and expressive playing.
My teaching philosophy balances structured instruction with encouragement, emphasising posture, hand coordination, finger exercises, scales, chord transitions, rhythm practice, sight-reading, and musical interpretation.
I help students connect emotionally with the music, ensuring both technical accuracy and expressive performance. Each lesson includes technical exercises, theory, repertoire practice, and performance preparation, along with guidance for effective home practice.
Many students have performed successfully in recitals, competitions, and school events, and several have achieved high distinctions in graded examinations. My mission is to inspire students to become confident, expressive, and skilled pianists with a lifelong love for music.

My piano teaching philosophy focuses on long-term musical development through adaptability, encouragement, and structured technique building. I believe that a strong foundation creates confident performers.
From the first lesson, I emphasise correct posture, relaxed technique, hand coordination, rhythm accuracy, and musical expression. Each lesson is carefully planned but remains flexible to suit the student’s learning pace. I observe how the student responds to instruction and adjust methods to ensure clarity and understanding.
I divide complex pieces into sections and focus on mastering one concept at a time before moving forward. Collaboration plays an important role; students participate in setting goals and selecting repertoire that motivates them while still supporting technical growth.
I create a supportive and positive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and explore creativity. Beyond piano performance, I teach theory fundamentals, sight-reading skills, ear training exercises, keyboard harmony, and introductory composition to help students become independent and versatile musicians.
