About Anni
I am an enthusiastic piano tutor with 12 years of professional experience and a record of successfully teaching around 300 students ranging from teenagers and college learners to adults. My lessons focus on helping students strengthen technical skills, develop musical expression, and gain confidence in performance while nurturing a love for music.
My teaching philosophy combines strong technical foundations with creative interpretation, emphasising posture, hand coordination, finger independence, scales, arpeggios, rhythm, sight-reading, theory, and phrasing.
I encourage students to connect emotionally with each piece and explore their unique musical voice. Lessons balance technique, theory, and repertoire practice, with beginners building confidence through simple pieces and advanced students refining performance skills and exploring complex compositions.
Many students have excelled in graded examinations and performed successfully in recitals and competitions.

My teaching methodology for piano is student-centred and growth-oriented. I adapt my instructional methods to match each learner’s preferred style, whether visual, auditory, or hands-on. I begin with establishing a strong technical base, focusing on posture, hand alignment, rhythm stability, scale mastery, chord progressions, and expressive interpretation. I explain musical concepts clearly and provide practical demonstrations to reinforce understanding.
Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson intensity, review foundational skills, or introduce new challenges when appropriate. Collaboration encourages students to actively participate in planning their musical journey by setting goals and selecting repertoire that keeps them motivated. I maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment where mistakes are treated as valuable learning experiences.
Alongside piano lessons, I teach related subjects such as music theory, harmony, sight-reading, keyboard skills, and beginner composition to ensure comprehensive musical growth
