About Natalie
I’m a passionate piano tutor with 2 years of teaching experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance. My teaching centres on helping motivated students prepare for advanced jazz studies at top conservatories such as Berklee, Juilliard, and similar institutions.
In my lessons, students develop both technical strength and artistic freedom. We explore jazz harmony, chord voicings, improvisation, and rhythmic phrasing. These elements are essential for expressive jazz performance.
I also guide students through jazz repertoire and performance preparation. Improvisation becomes a space where students learn to express their own musical voice. Every pianist has unique ideas worth exploring.
My role as a teacher is to help unlock that creativity while strengthening technique. Lessons are challenging, focused, and encouraging. Together we build the skills needed for advanced jazz performance and conservatory-level study.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students explore the artistry and tradition of classical piano. I believe that technique, understanding, and expression must work together. In every lesson, students strengthen their piano technique while learning how to interpret music thoughtfully.
We study classical repertoire with attention to structure and detail. Students learn about musical forms such as sonata form, rondo, and variation form. This helps them understand how composers organise musical ideas.
I also introduce historical context so students learn about the composers and the musical periods they represent. This deeper knowledge makes performances more meaningful and expressive.
Interpretation is an important part of my teaching. Students learn to shape musical phrases, control dynamics, and communicate emotion clearly. For many learners, piano practice also becomes a calm and reflective space. My goal is to guide students towards refined, expressive performances. Together we bring classical pieces to life with depth and understanding.
