About Betsy
With more than 7 years of experience in flute instruction, I have trained students from beginner to advanced levels across different age groups. I teach school students, college learners, and working professionals who want systematic and practical learning. My teaching method focuses on step-by-step development.
I start with breathing exercises, sound clarity, and correct fingering before introducing scales, rhythm patterns, and expressive techniques. I also teach music theory, notation reading, ear training, and basic improvisation to strengthen musical knowledge.
I maintain clear communication and provide regular feedback to ensure steady progress. My special strength lies in identifying individual learning styles and adapting lessons accordingly. I believe learning flute should be enjoyable, disciplined, and inspiring.

My flute teaching methodology is centred on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity to ensure every student experiences steady and confident progress. I begin by understanding the student’s goals, background, and preferred way of learning, then structure lessons that suit their pace and comfort level.
Strong fundamentals form the foundation of my teaching, including breath support, embouchure development, posture alignment, tone production, articulation clarity, finger coordination, and rhythmic precision.
I use structured long-tone exercises, scale routines, and articulation drills to build technical consistency before introducing expressive phrasing and dynamic control. Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson intensity and repertoire according to exam preparation, stage performance, or personal interest.
Collaboration ensures students remain actively involved in setting goals and evaluating improvement. Positivity creates a supportive atmosphere where students feel motivated to overcome challenges.
In addition to flute instruction, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm training, ear development, and performance techniques to foster complete musicianship.
