About Libby
Hi! My name is Libby and I recently left Sixth-form with predictions of A*AA in A-level Biology, Chemistry, and French. In September, I will be doing Neuroscience at the University of Bristol and I am keen to start tutoring GCSEs and A-levels. I have plenty of experience regarding working with children and young people, such as working at a children’s mental health association, volunteering with a charity for disadvantaged youth and being a tutor.
For more than 3 years, I volunteered at a charity offering academic support to children from KS2 to KS5. I attended sessions weekly where I lead activities, helped with homework, and provided 1-1 tutoring. Because of this, I understand how to interact appropriately with different age groups and I developed effective communication and leadership skills. Leading students could prove difficult due to their range of ages. However, I was able to use my initiative to alter how I communicated with them to ensure that they all understood the task at hand. These problem-solving and communication skills allow optimum learning for your child in our sessions as I work with them to find ways they can best understand the content.
I use a variety of methods in order to find ones that work best for your child as an individual such as active recall, past papers, games, quizzes etc. And I work with your child to build their confidence in the subject so they have a wide range of skills for their exams.

I use a variety of teaching styles in the first few sessions in order to find which best works for your child as an individual. Although to me, building their confidence in the subject is most vital as it allows them to use critical thinking and wider skills in the subject outside of the lessons, not just learning content for exams.
I typically will do lessons with a duration of an hour as I find that allows the optimum learning conditions but I am very flexible to your wants and needs.
I have tutored 200+ hours in the past as a volunteer in an academic support charity and a GCSE and AS tutor.
I focus mainly on GCSE and A-level Biology, Chemistry, and French but please message me with any queries, Id love to answer them.
