Hey there, My name is SIMARJEET SINGH GILL. I've been playing guitar since I was 7 years old. I've always loved playing guitar and I was hoping to share my knowledge. • I have a teaching experience of 6 years. • Taught over 50 students

About the lesson

I teach with a vision that the learner should enjoy the process of playing guitar and should develop an affection towards the instrument. I try to make the teaching as relaxing and effective as I can. I believe that any person who loves music can learn guitar, all it takes is dedication and genuine effort. With me you'll be able to learn Guitar easily and have a great time doing so.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I was 7 when my dad bought me a guitar. He had a lot of interest in music. With time I developed an affection towards the instrument and music as an art if I see it in retrospect.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
I never planned to teach, but one day a neighboring kid asked me to teach him guitar. didn't take any fees from him, just taught him what I knew. That's when I realized that teaching is something I'm good at. Makes me happy.
How does your work help society?
I think music helps a lot to relax and to feel connected to the world. Makes us feel relevant in irrelevance. Having said that, music helps me to introspect myself as well as express my feelings clearly.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My parents have always been music lovers and great guitar enthusiasts. Always supported me in my journey through music.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Outside teaching, I'm a software developer in the day, and a band vocalist on the weekends. As a songwriter as well, I work on my own songs whenever I get time.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
One student of mine almost left the guitar after a few sessions as she thought she was too bad at it. Motivated her a little and a few sessions in, and she developed a lot of interest in it and made great great improvement.
