• 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

  I developed a passion for music when I was a little girl singing in my school choirs. The ability to become different characters and emote with my voice fascinated me.

• 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

  I think I have a wide variety of music tastes, from 80s pop to soundtrack music. I can listen to musicals while driving or Enya while frolicking in the woods. It depends on my mood and emotions.

• 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

  This would probably be a song in a different language. Understanding the nuances of a different language and knowing best how to express it can be challenging.

• 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

  I think the most complicated instrument to master is the voice, because its always changing due to hormones or environmental factors or simply just age. Constantly adapting to your own body and learning to manipulate sound is a lifelong journey

• 5) What are your keys to success?

  Keys to success are consistency and confidence that you WILL eventually meet your goals. 'Rome was not built in a day' and any good skill takes time to master.

• 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

  I dream of meeting Enya because her music is whimsical and revolutionary, I would love to pick her mind about her inspiration. Second , I would love to meet Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin. He has written songs that have moved the hearts of thousands, worldwide and have survived decades. I would love to hear how he creates these and how he started in music. Lastly I would love to meet Maria Callas, even though she has passed, it would be beautiful to hear her life story and maybe even sing with her!

• 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

  When I was in middle school, nobody believed I had a big voice because of my small stature. I was also shy and timid about sharing my voice. However, when I got to the end of the year and had to audition for the whole class I was committed to showing everyone "what i've got". My teacher and classmates were blown away that a little girl could have such a powerful and resonant sound. I had spent all year practicing at home and preparing for that moment. They never underestimated me again. I went on to win competitions and title roles in music shows.

• 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

  I think my philosophy makes me stand out as a teacher. That is that the voice is an instrument that INCLUDES the whole body and mind. I take a very holistic approach to singing, and understand the psychology behind it. As a teacher I tailor my lessons to accommodate every student's needs, goals and interests.
