About Ruth
I'm a graduate of Cambridge University and USC. I started out as a journalist, writing articles for newspapers and magazines as diverse as the Guardian, Fast Company, Elle, Marie Claire, Wired, The NY Times and more. I transitioned into screenwriting ten years ago, and since that time have optioned numerous scripts and series to producers and streamers. I created and showran a mini series called 'Rules of the Game' for the BBC, and 'Little Disasters' for Paramount +. With a strong background in comedy and theater, and as a Film Director, I approach each script with the actors and production in mind. I enjoy surfing, dancing and camping in my spare time.

I've been a professor of screenwriting at UCLA for three years. I teach everyone from high school onwards how to outline a pilot script, create a beat sheet, form a pitch deck and start writing their TV or Film script, with feedback and support at every step of the journey. As a Film school graduate myself and scholarship recipient to the best film school in the world, I have extensive experience in helping people with their college applications to competitive film schools. I am also available to do script feedback and help you craft your existing work into professional level work for submission to competitions and producers. I teach people practical steps on how to improve their work so you come away with skills and knowledge you can apply to all your future endeavors.
