About George
I’m a writer-director and editor whose short films have screened at recognised UK and international festivals, alongside a career leading high-end content for major cultural institutions and global brands. I’ve produced and directed shorts such as “Faults,” “Juices” and “Falcon Eyes,” and spent years shaping digital storytelling at the National Theatre, where I helped launch the National Theatre at Home platform and oversaw more than 200 digital assets reaching audiences worldwide. I’ve also delivered campaigns and live-event content for clients including Amazon, eBay, Huawei, CBS and Al Jazeera, which means I understand both the creative and strategic sides of making work that connects.
I want to teach because I know how difficult it can be to navigate festivals, notes and endless revisions on your own. Over the years I’ve seen what helps a film travel, and what holds promising projects back—often small decisions about length, clarity, structure or how the work is presented. Mentoring allows me to pass on that hard-won experience, give you honest, specific feedback, and help you build a film and submission strategy that reflects your voice rather than forcing you into a template.

Short Film & Festival Strategy – From Idea to Submission
Turn your short film into its strongest version and build a smart festival plan. I’m an experienced director and editor whose films have screened at UK and international festivals, and I combine creative feedback with practical, real-world strategy so your project has the best chance of connecting with audiences.
What You’ll Gain:
One-to-one online mentoring focused on your specific film or idea
Script and story development support, from logline to final draft
Guidance on shaping your cut for clarity, pacing and emotional impact
Help with packaging: synopsis, logline, stills and basic press materials
A realistic festival or release strategy tailored to your film and budget
My approach is honest, supportive and hands-on. We look at where your project is now—idea, script, rough cut or fine cut—and work step by step to strengthen it. You’ll get clear notes, suggested changes and concrete actions for each stage, rather than vague “this could be better” feedback.
Who Should Join?
Filmmakers developing their first or second short
Film and media students preparing graduation or portfolio projects
Creators who already have a cut but want expert feedback and festival guidance
Rates: First 3 lessons at £20. Standard rate £25/hr, with flexible packages for longer projects or ongoing mentoring.

I know George through his work as a producer, and he brings that real industry experience straight into his teaching. What I appreciate most is how he makes filmmaking practical and clear. Breaking down everything from storytelling to production in a way that actually feels usable.
I’ve seen how he explains complex ideas simply and adapts to whoever he’s teaching, which makes a big difference. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone serious about learning cinema in a hands-on, real-world way.
George is an expert in all things film and extremely knowledgeable about the craft. He is a very supportive tutor for anyone curious about filmmaking, scriptwriting, or production or looking to hone their skills. 100% recommend
