About Anna
I teach because I believe German is more than a set of rules. It's a way of connecting with people, cultures, and ideas that would otherwise stay out of reach. Having grown up bilingual and worked across different countries and disciplines myself, I know firsthand how much confidence a new language can unlock, both personally and professionally.
What draws me to teaching specifically is the moment a student moves from hesitantly forming sentences to genuinely expressing themselves. That shift is something I find genuinely rewarding to be part of. I bring the same patience and structure I've developed through years of tutoring and mentoring into every lesson, so that students always feel supported rather than judged, no matter their starting level.

Rather than relying on generic textbook exercises, I like to bring in topics such as art, culture, and design to keep conversations engaging and natural, so learners absorb living language rather than memorised phrases.
Lessons typically run 60 minutes, though I'm happy to adjust the length depending on what works best for you.
I have an academic background, and alongside my studies I tutored both children and adults, and wrote for a national German newspaper, which sharpened my sense for precise, clear language.
My lessons are suited to all levels, from children and complete beginners to advanced learners, and to adults of any age looking to build confidence in German - and come away believing it can be a beautiful, aesthetic language in its own right!
