About Annie
I’m Annie, a SEND teacher and founder of I AM A, with over 5 years’ experience supporting neurodivergent children and young people. I specialise in communication, emotional regulation, situational mutism, ESOL, PDA, and the primary curriculum.
My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, child-led, and tailored to each child’s strengths, needs, communication style, and sensory profile. I believe all communication, including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), is valid, and I focus on building confidence, emotional wellbeing, self-advocacy, and authentic connection without encouraging masking.
I teach the primary curriculum through play-based and sensory learning, including sensory stories, practical life skills, and hands-on activities using real objects. Understanding is assessed in meaningful ways — for example, asking children to bring specific quantities of items, or using AAC to retell stories, recall key ideas, and demonstrate comprehension.
As an AuDHD individual, my work is informed by both professional and lived experience. I offer engaging online, in-person, and hybrid sessions, working closely with families to support children to thrive as themselves.

Each session is designed to support your child’s communication, emotional wellbeing, confidence, and self-expression in a way that is engaging, personalised, and respectful of who they are as an individual.
My approach is neurodiversity-affirming and child-led. I do not believe autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD children need to be “fixed” or taught to hide their natural ways of thinking, communicating, or experiencing the world. Instead, I focus on supporting each child’s strengths, needs, interests, and autonomy in a safe and supportive environment.
I use play-based activities, sensory support, role play, structured tasks, and communication-focused approaches to help children build confidence, self-advocacy, emotional regulation, and meaningful connections. I recognise and respect all forms of communication, including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), as valid and important.
Sessions are tailored to your child’s age, communication style, sensory profile, and learning preferences, helping them feel comfortable, understood, and motivated to engage.
My work is informed by both professional and lived experience as an AuDHD individual, giving me a personal understanding of neurodivergent experiences and the importance of compassionate, affirming support.
I also work collaboratively with parents and carers, offering practical strategies to support communication, wellbeing, and authentic development at home and in everyday life.
