About Stephanie

I am a qualified teacher and SENCo with over 15 years’ experience working across a wide range of SEND settings. This includes specialist provision, alternative provision, and roles involving close, ongoing work with other professionals and services. I have worked across a variety of local authorities, which has given me a broad understanding of how SEND processes, expectations, and practice can differ depending on context.
A significant part of my work has involved SEND systems and processes, particularly EHCPs and Annual Reviews. I have extensive experience supporting and contributing to Annual Reviews, reviewing provision, identifying need, and ensuring that plans and recommended outcomes are meaningful, accurate, and genuinely reflective of the young person. I understand how EHCPs work in practice, not just in theory, and I am familiar with the challenges families and professionals often face when navigating these processes across different local authorities.
For over 10 years of my career, I have worked as part of a senior leadership team (SLT). In this role, I have been involved in strategic decision-making, service development, and supporting consistent, high-quality SEND practice across settings.

Alongside direct work with children and young people, I have supported SEND practice at a whole-setting level. This has included contributing to SEND audits and reviews, supporting honest reflection on current provision, and helping to identify clear areas for improvement and development.
I have been involved in developing and adapting practical resources to support both staff and young people, including individual strategies, intervention tools, and guidance to support everyday practice. My focus is always on approaches that are realistic, accessible, and genuinely useful.

A key part of my work has been reflective practice, including peer reflection and professional discussion. I have supported staff and professionals to step back, think things through, and work through challenges in a calm and constructive way. I value open, honest discussion and believe this is central to building confidence and improving practice.

I bring a thoughtful, level-headed approach to my work and aim to be clear, supportive, and realistic. SEND work can be complex, and my role is to help people feel clearer about their options, more confident in their decisions, and better supported moving forward.
All support is offered professionally and ethically, with an emphasis on collaboration, clarity, and approaches that can be sustained over time.

I provide individual, consultancy-style support for adults, families, and professionals who are working with, or living alongside, SEND. My work is practical, reflective, and grounded in real experience, drawing on over 15 years of working across a range of SEND settings.
I am a qualified teacher and SENCo, and my approach is shaped by extensive hands-on experience supporting children and young people with autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and through trauma-informed practice. Alongside direct work, I have led staff training and professional development, supporting teams to build confident, consistent SEND practice.
Support begins with an initial 30-minute meeting, which allows time to talk through needs, priorities, and any specific concerns. This helps to identify clear, focused areas for support and ensures sessions are purposeful and relevant from the outset. Following this, support is planned in a flexible and manageable way, most often in 30-minute chunks tailored to the individual, family, or professional context.
Sessions are bespoke and may involve talking through a particular scenario, unpicking what’s happening beneath the surface, and thinking together about what may help. This could include:

exploring specific SEND needs and how they present day to day
troubleshooting challenges at home, within education settings, or in professional roles
developing practical strategies, reasonable adjustments, and interventions that fit your situation
thinking through communication, emotional regulation, behaviour, routines, or sensory needs
offering clear recommendations and next steps to support confident decision-making

Sessions provide a calm, non-judgemental space to reflect, ask questions, and gain perspective. Whether you are a family member, caregiver, or professional, my role is to work alongside you, helping you make sense of challenges and identify realistic, supportive approaches.
Face-to-face training and in-person support for teams or organisations can also be provided on an enquiry basis.
My work is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to the individual. I aim to offer experienced, thoughtful guidance that is practical, respectful, and genuinely useful.
