What i feel is, there are lot of players who play extremely well yet they dont know what is really going on with the fretboard. They play by ear which is perfect as it trains your ear but if you know the basics then you can open many doors for the song writing process.

I will be starting from basics i.e from strumming, fret board visualization, intervals, undersranding notes, scales and translation by ear as well. In every class one topic will be taught by demonstrating, giving task and finally reveiwing the given tasks.
