About Ali
I’m a musician with 6 years experience in a functioning touring band as a lead singer and mpc sampler having created sets for live in Ableton, as well as an accomplished solo producer (Platypi). I have a degree in music technology from Northbrook college in Worthing and last year I completed my teacher training to become a fully qualified secondary school music teacher but I’m looking to specialise in music technology and song writing techniques for modern producers such as sample flipping, bass line and melody creation and improvisation etc.

My teaching method is a mixture of setting project targets tailored to the pupil and expanding knowledge within the pupils area of interest to create a bespoke course that will improve both production technique and enhance creativity within the students chosen genre or area of music.
This will include:
- Sample based projects
- Time limited projects to create completed tracks
- A variety of stimuli and support in order to create new ideas quickly and creatively.
- Recording techniques, microphone placement and comping recorded sounds.
- Bespoke lessons in recording technique, sampling and synthesis that will be tailored to a specific genre (such as how to effectively manipulate 808 and 909 kits for producers of trap music).
