About Zara
I am a second-year BSc Psychology student at the University of Leicester with a strong academic record and a genuine passion for helping others succeed. At the end of my first year, I achieved a First-Class grade and was awarded an academic commendation by the University in recognition of both my high academic performance and my dedication to the subject.
My academic background includes A-Levels in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology, where I earned grades ranging from A* to B. These subjects not only deepened my understanding of human behavior and society but also equipped me with critical thinking and analytical skills that I now bring into my tutoring.
In addition to my university studies, I have nearly two years of tutoring experience, primarily in English and Maths up to GCSE level. This experience taught me how to tailor my approach to suit different learning styles, build students' confidence, and make lessons both engaging and effective. I take pride in helping students enjoy the learning process while also working toward achieving outstanding academic results.
Whether you're struggling with specific psychological theories, need support with exam preparation, or want to improve your essay writing and critical analysis skills, I’m here to help. I'm approachable, patient, and committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

My lessons are thoughtfully designed to suit each student’s unique learning style, academic needs, and personal goals. Whether you're looking for long-term support in Psychology or help preparing for exams, I aim to create a welcoming, focused environment where students feel confident and motivated to learn.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes long, as this allows enough time to explore topics in depth while keeping engagement high. However, I understand that every student has different needs, so lesson lengths can be varied upon request to suit your learning preferences and schedule.
Each session is structured to support your individual progress. This might involve:
Breaking down complex topics such as research methods, memory, biopsychology, or psychological approaches.
Working through past exam questions and learning how to approach them effectively.
Developing strong essay-writing and evaluation skills to boost marks and improve clarity.
Reviewing feedback from school or college and using it constructively to target areas for improvement.
My teaching style is adaptable and student-focused. I take time to understand how you learn best—whether that means using discussion-based explanation, real-world examples, or interactive problem-solving. My aim is to make Psychology engaging, accessible, and enjoyable, no matter your current level or confidence.
Above all, I want to help you not only succeed academically but also develop a genuine interest in the subject. When students feel supported, understood, and encouraged, they’re more likely to stay motivated and achieve excellent results.

Zara was excellent tutoring my Y12 son. She was always well prepared, identifying and planning sessions effectively to really target areas for support. As a result, he became so much more confident, particularly with longer answers & how to structure his responses in exams.
Zara is a colleague at University and i met her during my course. I am now a unqualified teacher getting my PGCE and QTS with Teach First - in my opinions Zara while not on the programme yet, she exemplifies the best qualities needed to be an effective teacher or tutor. She has excellent subject knowledge in her field but more importantly her knowledge and application of pedagogy is fantastic, having experience with working with young children and SEND pupils Zara is an adapted and supportive educator.
