About Joseph

I studied jazz and classical saxophone at Michigan State University. After graduating in 2018, I moved to Asheville, NC, where I performed regularly on all woodwinds. In 2019, I recorded by debut album, This is Our Environment, performing all original compositions. Later that year, I started by own big, also performing my own compositions and arrangements. In 2021, I moved to NYC to continue my growth as a musician.

About the lesson

I develop a unique approach for every student with the goal of centering your love of the music. We play music because we enjoy it, so learning music should be enjoyable, too! Since 2017, I've been leading my own bands performing my original works, allowing me to bring my experience as a performer, band leader, and composer as well as my studies in both jazz and classical saxophone to our lessons.

I teach saxophone, composition, and jazz improvisation lessons of all levels, as well as beginner clarinet and flute.
