About James
I graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia. Thanks to years of experience performing Russian repertoire inside Russia, I know it's not as hard as it seems. Like any other language, it takes hard work. The director of the Moscow House of Russian Romance praised my "deep understanding of the stylistics of Russian Romance".
From 2009-2022 I performed across Russia in such prestigious venues as the Mariinsky Theater, the Grand Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia, Shalyapin Hall (Ufa), the Kaliningrad Philharmonia, the main stage of the Saratov State Opera, the Moscow House of Unions, and the State Kremlin Palace.
Among other roles, I've performed Vaudemont in Tchaikovsky's "Iolanta", covered the role of Hermann in "Queen of Spades", performed Andriy in Mykola Arkas's opera "Katerina", and most recently Radu in Vitaliy Kyreiko's opera "On Sunday Morning She Gathered Herbs" under the direction of Lada Shylenko at the National Theatre's festival Jelenlét in Budapest, Hungary (sponsored by the Ukrainian Centre of Documents and Culture).

Learn Russian and/or Ukrainian diction from the standpoint of someone who learned how to do it themselves, cutting through the fluff and sticking to the important elements that will give it an organic feel.
