About Alia
I am an Undergraduate Law student, passionate about languages. I studied French and Spanish at A level, achieving A* in both, and am fluent in Russian and English. Speaking is one of the main ways that you can demonstrate your knowledge of a language; it is both a useful skill day-to-day but also gives people the confidence to communicate with those around them.
I remember finding it difficult to find people to practice my speaking skills with, and also found it quite nerve-wracking! This inspired me to start tutoring with a focus on speaking, so that people have the space to make mistakes, try again, and perfect their language skills. Alongside learning languages, I also play the tenor saxophone and love watching films, especially in foreign languages!

I prefer to base my teaching method according to the student. In the first lesson we would discuss what they want to achieve from these lessons, from which I can base my lessons around your goals.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, in which we will focus on speaking around the topic of choice, alongside learning new vocabulary and phrases, which I find more useful and easier to remember. With a focus on Speaking skills, my lessons are intended to challenge but also be a safe space to practice speaking in a foreign language, which can be intimidating. Through my lessons I guarantee a judgement free, fun and interactive way to practice speaking, whether it be for daily life or in the world of work.
For GCSE students, a typical lesson will incorporate all four skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Homework will be catered to the topic you would like to work on.
My lessons are catered towards Young Adults and above, from beginners to more advanced students.
