About Tristan
"Have you ever wanted to bridge the gap between playing notes on a page and truly understanding the language of music? As a tutor with 3 years of experience, I guide my 82 students through pedalling technique, hand independence, and jazz improvisation with a structured, precise hand.
My lessons draw on my Artist Diploma from the Royal Academy of Music to ensure every student masters grade exam prep or sight playing fundamentals. Music theory and contemporary pop styles offer a refreshing change of pace. Simply put, seeing a student grasp complex sight reading is the most rewarding part of my day."

My philosophy centres on building a robust framework of music theory and technique so that your creative freedom has a home. I provide custom sheet music arrangements for songs you choose, making the 7 sessions we spend together feel deeply personal and relevant to your own musical taste. This method allows us to balance the rigour of exam preparation with the joy of contemporary playing.
