About Parker
I am a dedicated Roblox game developer with over six years of experience in game development, specializing in Lua scripting and core gameplay systems. Throughout my work, I've developed an understanding of how games function in both its technical and design aspects, allowing me to teach concepts effectively. I take a structured approach to tutoring and place a strong emphasis on patience, understanding, and progress. My lessons revolve around the student’s goals, skill level, and learning pace. I believe that learning is most effective when students fully understand why and how something works, not just how to recreate it. As a result, I consistently reinforce problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Along with scripting, I also have experience with animation, user interface design, optimization, physics simulation, and game mechanics. With these skills, I am able to offer well-rounded guidance and help students build polished projects in which they are able to gain proper experience from making. I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where questions are welcomed and students feel that progress is possible. I am reliable, organized, and committed to helping each student succeed. As a tutor, I believe in emphasizing an interactive and hands-on learning style with students in order to encourage information retention as much as possible. With this learning style, students physically solve problems with their own work while having the guidance and help of a knowledgeable teacher by their side, which I believe also helps them retain information and apply what they've learned in the future. My teaching methods and techniques involve going at the learning pace of students and letting students feel free to ask questions, as well as be curious. I also will do demonstrations of applications of new concepts and leave comments in my scripts in order to explain each and every line of a new or existing programming concept. A typical lesson plan will usually start with review of concepts learned in previous lessons, answering any questions when needed. Once review is done, the student will then learn a new concept that I will explain. Afterwards, they will be able to experiment with the new concept I teach by completing tasks created by me that use this concept. Finally, the lesson would end off with a brief review of what was learned that lesson along with a homework assignment that will be due the next lesson. What sets me apart as a tutor is my versatility since my programming, although it is my primary skill, is not the only aspect of game development that I am advanced in. My lessons are for game developers of all skill levels, from beginner to expert, who further want to develop their skills in game development.
