About Eleanor
Having achieved full marks in ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory, I can help students prepare and pass ABRSM Music Theory exams from grade 1-5.
I have also passed ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory, GCSE Music (grade 9) and A Level Music (A*), and I have successfully tutored and mentored students to help them pass their GCSE music exam.
Currently, I am a student at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying a BMus in flute performance.

I am a friendly and welcoming person, dedicated to creating a positive and relaxed learning environment. My main focus is working at the student's own pace to fill gaps in your music theory knowledge, increasing your confidence so you can pass the exam with flying colours!
In lessons, we can cover specific areas you are struggling with, or cover the whole syllabus of grade 5 music theory or GCSE music from beginning to end. I have a pupil-centred approach, meaning I will tailor lessons to your goals and needs. Lessons can be 30 minutes or 1 hour, either online via a video call, or I can travel to your home or a public place such as a library - whatever you would prefer.
In a typical lesson: I will explain concepts, go through examples together, and answer any questions in the lesson until you feel confident. When you are ready, I can set some practice questions for you to email to me and I will respond with feedback and explanations, either over email or in the next lesson. Once we have covered all the content we can go through whole past papers together and I will mark any past papers you send to me until you are fully prepared for the exam!
