About Emmy
Downbeat award winner Emmy Irvine moved at 17 to the US to study on a Dean’s Scholarship at Oberlin College Conservatory with jazz legends LaTanya Hall, Gerald Cannon and Jay Ashby, among many others. Now living in New York City, she has toured the northeast with the pop formation Slightly Tooned, and appeared with her own Emmy Irvine Quartet in Brooklyn, Long Island and the Berkshires. Her singing style mixes the cool tones of Chet Baker with the passion of great jazz singers such as Carmen McRae, adding touches of musical theater and contemporary British sounds from Liquid Drum and Bass and beyond. Emmy is a composer, artist, collaborator, and teacher with years of experience under her belt.
