About Lawrence
My parents were U.S. journalists living in Asia, so I was born and grew up in Hong Kong. I then lived in Spain for 11 years and have a Ph.D in Spanish. I have taught at two colleges and always received excellent student evaluations. I retired from full-time teaching but I really enjoy tutoring.

I have a comprehension-based approach and will modify my techniques to adapt to your particular learning style.
Example of a Lesson Plan: If you were a beginning student and we were learning verbs in the present tense I would have you create a typical daily schedule (I get up, I take a shower, I get dressed, I have breakfast etc.) and then practice it orally with you. We would then practice writing the verb forms by filling in a weekly schedule.
What sets me apart is my experience (25 years), my dedication to teaching, and my enthusiasm.
I would like to teach students who are at least 16 years old. I can teach any level from beginning to Advanced Placement Spanish. I can tutor all 4 language areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
