About Colin
I am a retired teacher. I retired from Danville Park Girls High School at the end of 2023. I thoroughly enjoyed my first year of retirement but find now that I miss the stimulation of interacting with my pupils. I trained as a teacher at Maritzburg University and spent a year at UCT studying some extra subjects that interested me. My first post was at Eshowe High School and I was then transferred to my old school, Maritzburg College. I spent 18 very enjoyable years there before resigning to join the Sharks Rugby Union as a Coach Educator and Sharks U21 and Sharks 2nd Team Head Coach. I worked there in various capacities for 16 years before moving on to start my own consultancy company. Getting back into teaching again was quite by accident as I did a favor for a friend by doing a two week locum which ultimately led to me becoming a full time teacher again. The personal satisfaction and fulfillment I gained from being in the classroom again is difficult to describe and explain. I simply loved seeing a pupil's face light up as they finally “got it”.

My lessons are very relaxed and interactive using a lot of visual material as geography is about the real world after all. Climatology is my favorite section and I guarantee to help you overcome any difficulties you may have encountered in the past.

Any person needing a long term commitment from me as a teacher would qualify for reduced rates. Anything longer than 12 lessons will qualify for a reduced rate to be agreed on individually at the time.
