About Linda
I love teaching, especially all aspects of language arts, even grammar! I taught for 35 years before retiring to care for my sick parents. I have taught reading, writing, literary analysis, and grammar mostly at the middle school level, but not exclusively. I have taught remedial learners, ESL learners, as well as, pre-AP and AP students.

I believe in meeting each learner where they are. That can mean a need for some mechanics of our language or for some aid in how to write a more structured, expressive essay, or how to tackle the analysis of a piece of writing. I am a believer in the premise that to write well not only requires a degree of mastery over the mechanics of the English language, but even more so, it requires thinking first. Analysis of literature not only requires specific tools but also a willingness to think! So, my approach involves guided questions that challenge learners to ponder their own thinking first and then use organizational tools and analysis tools to come up with a defensible response.
