About Hideko

Master the Violin with Hideko: A Journey of Excellence

Are you ready to elevate your violin skills to the next level? As a former student of the legendary Nathan Milstein and a performer with over 40 years of international acclaim, I offer you a unique opportunity to learn from the best. My teaching is deeply rooted in the Russian romantic tradition, and I am dedicated to nurturing exceptional talent.

Why choose me?
- Tailored lessons for advanced and professional students aged 10 and above.
- Insights from a career spanning performances with the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, and more.
- Personalised guidance on both artistic mastery and professional success.

Join me in my W2 home studio, where your commitment meets my passion for excellence. Let's embark on a transformative journey together. Book your lesson and unlock your full potential as a violinist.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy centres on developing each student's unique artistic voice while maintaining the highest technical standards. Key aspects of my approach include:

1. Emphasis on the great Russian school of violin playing, inherited from Milstein, combining technical rigour with expressive power
2. Focus on developing a solid technique as the foundation for full musical expression
3. Encouraging creative problem-solving in practice rather than mindless repetition
4. Nurturing the student's individual style and interpretation
5. Mentorship beyond just instrumental skills, including building self-confidence, career guidance and introductions to people of note in the music industry.

I believe in challenging my students to reach their full potential while respecting their artistic choices. My goal is to prepare students not just for performances, but for sustainable, fulfilling careers as professional violinists. (Networking Soirees are held for advanced students). I believe progress is of utmost importance, and often offer extra lesson time at no additional fee, to ensure correct progress is made.
