About Rehana
I was lead teacher at a homework centre and received a certificate at the Homework Centre for outstanding work. I now operate from home and doing great .During my younger days, I participated in many debates and speeches in Afrikaans. My favourite subjects at school were Maths, English, Afrikaans as well as Accountancy. I received many certificates from various universities in many subjects for outstanding performance. I am also a certified ESL teacher and received gold badged certificates for attaining distinctions in TEFL/TESOL. My passion is teaching and I find happiness in helping children. I have all the patience in the world and will go the extra mile to help the children. I first started teaching at the homework centre and then went on to tutoring kids at the homework centre. It was the most amazing thing ever watching the kids excel in the subjects I have been tutoring. It brings such great pleasure receiving thank you messages, voicenotes, letters and gifts from parents and kids. Now I am tutoring kids from various schools and have lots of different types of tutoring programs. Anything to help the kids and putting a smile on their faces.

Afrikaans is one of the first additional languages in South Africa and considered a crucial examination subject. Many kids find it difficult understanding and adapting to FAL if it is not the home language . I try my best to get the kids to understand the language from scratch. They need to learn the names and how to pronounce the sounds of the letters of the alphabet in Afrikaans and how it is pronounced in words. I try my best to help them understand the grammar in Afrikaans which is called "taal". I also use English translation first to help them understand the words and sentences and also help them find the clues to their answers in Afrikaans comprehension which is called "begrip". I then get them to write simple paragraphs in Afrikaans before taking them to composition and letter writing known as"opstel en brief" in Afrikaans. I also try and encourage them to increase their vocabulary (woordeskat) by reading Afrikaans books.
