About Lucy
I was born and raised in China and moved to Melbourne in 2012. I speak standard Mandarin without accents:)
I have graduated with a Bachelor of Education and am currently registered with the VIT.
I had experience working as a Mandarin teacher in Melbourne for 1 year and my students were Australian primary school students.
I also work as a freelancer online and I have taught 760+ Mandarin and English lessons online.

I’ll customise the lesson to help you attain your unique goals! I welcome all students regardless of current level:) We can learn pinyin together to build a solid foundation for your Mandarin journey or we can share some news or slang words to help you sound more like a native speaker!
I can provide:
- A new word list (Mandarin-Pinyin-English);
- A range of topics to discuss (conversational practice);
- A Google doc to track your progress;
- Phrases that can help you to sound like a native speaker;
- Self-created grammar points explanation slideshow;
- HSK test preparation;
- The material we used in class (stories, news articles, textbooks, mock tests, voice recordings, etc.);
- Pronunciation correction;
- Homework;
- Feedback after each class;

FOR CHILDREN:

I use inquiry-based learning and scaffolding as my main teaching approaches. I will create a range of activities to make learning fun and effective. We will practice a lot during the lesson and I would encourage you to speak as many words as you can because practice to speak is the most efficient way of learning a new language:)
