About Rory
As a Piano tutor with over 9 years of teaching experience, I enjoy helping students unlock their musical abilities and reach their full potential. I teach school students, college students, and working professionals, offering lessons that are customized to their individual learning goals.
My teaching philosophy is centered on patience, adaptability, and student success. I work closely with each learner to create lessons that make learning enjoyable, effective, and motivating.
Students in my classes learn piano fundamentals, scales, chords, rhythm training, sight reading, ear training, music theory, improvisation, finger techniques, and performance preparation. I also provide guidance on effective practice habits that encourage consistent progress.
In addition to Piano, I teach keyboard skills and music reading. These complementary subjects help students strengthen their musical knowledge and become more confident performers.
My mission is to help every student build confidence, improve steadily, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music through enjoyable and meaningful lessons.

My teaching style is based on communication, creativity, flexibility, patience, and student-focused learning. I believe every student deserves lessons that are encouraging, enjoyable, and designed to match their abilities. Learning should always be a positive experience that motivates students to continue improving.
Students begin with proper posture, hand position, rhythm, finger exercises, note reading, and music theory. As they progress, they develop skills in scales, chords, arpeggios, dynamics, pedal techniques, expressive performance, sight reading, and advanced piano techniques.
Every lesson includes demonstrations, guided practice, listening activities, and regular revision. Students are encouraged to ask questions and understand every musical concept before moving forward. Personalized feedback supports consistent progress.
Students explore different musical genres while developing creativity through improvisation, accompaniment, and expressive playing. These activities build confidence and encourage musical independence.
Besides piano, I teach keyboard skills, ear training, rhythm training, music theory, sight reading, music appreciation, beginner composition, and performance preparation. These additional subjects provide complete musical development.
My mission is to help students become confident musicians who enjoy learning, performing, and sharing their passion for music.
